Unlike other books that describe a single, basic pattern for each rhythm, this book presents various legato as well as staccato patterns for various speeds and characters. Also covered thoroughly are preparatory beats, ritardando and accelerando, holds, accents, phrasing and changes of meter and tempo. But the book is not just about technique. There are practical tips for studying a score and planning rehearsals. In addition, interpretation and style through the ages are discussed with practical references to well-known works. In short, even experienced orchestral conductors can learn quite a bit from this book. The only thing I missed was some detail on the differences between orchestral and choral conducting.

I'm truly falling in love with the Rules on Music Conducting and baton technique. This is the stuff rite here. Overall I gotta say big up to Max Rudolf for a fantastic job. He deseves the Credit. Great tips on the do's and dont's of Conducting. Brock Elherhan's version on that Subject was well done and well recommended as a Must-Have. I think people today should know what and is that conducting and using batons being used in symphony orchestras, choruses, classes, workshop, all of the around.
