I bought this book over other books due to the 2017 Update. A key mistake the author makes is not updating his information on Amazon's barcode policies. If I had not done my own due diligence research on barcode policy that has been updated since 2016, then I could have been had in a costly mistake. The company he suggest has bad review in ripoff.com. I even started looking at other barcode companies and found they too were not compliant with Amazon seller policy. I finally found a blog website that states the new policy any if you don't follow, then your listings can get blocked. If you are truly going to update your book, then give updated terms of use policies that are major game changers. Old information needs to go. Otherwise this skim the surface book works.
This book is terrible and contains only very simple information that you can easily find with Google! It is badly written and formatted, very amateur looking. None of the chapters go into detail at all about properly setting up the account, the differences between FBM/FBA, properly listing an item, when to (and when not to) piggyback. No discussion on bundling, no discussion on shipping and customs issues. The book is cheap, but as the old saying goes "You get what you pay for". Pass on this, its just a cash grab!
The writer has an attitude! He insults the reader on the first page by accusing us of being "Grammar Nazis," which means that he knows he did a bad job of proofreading and editing and he doesn't care. The content is flimsy and very general. The Amazon FBA FAQs do a better job of explaining the complexities of the system. You could find this information ANYWHERE on the web FOR FREE!!!! This "e-book" did not add to my knowledge on the subject. As the author himself states, with a cocky attitude, "Any products under $10 are JUNK PRODUCTS." That description sums up this "e-book" very well.
This isn't a bad little book for the price. Had I payed more than $0.99 for it, I would have probably been a bit upset at the overall lack of information, but a dollar isn't much.I bought this book looking for some help understanding retail arbitrage; how to find good products in store, how to make sure I'm properly analyzing the product so it will sell on Amazon FBA, etc. This book is actually focused more on wholesale/private label sales. As such, I'd say it's a nice little crash course in that form of sales, but it's not very helpful for gaining a better understanding of retail arbitrage.
So, the idea of using fba was presented to me about a week ago. I don't know anyone that is doing this and have never even heard of it. So of course I needed the "411" on how to get started, and useful tips and tools.This short but very informative book gave me just that! With website links, pictures, honesty and a little humor :) . I was left scratching my head with wonders of so many possibilities that I wouldn't have even dreamed of. Please don't read this just once and say hmmmm what the heck is he talking about. Read it a second time, explore the links and spend time on the sites recommended.I think I just found my first product. Now let the research begin!!!!!!
I bought this book because it stated in the title 2017 update, however, very important info shared in this book is outdated. For example, using a cheap bar code for $1, that Amazon doesn't even except anymore. And suggesting having family and friends review your product which is also not allowed anymore. This is however, a beginners guide, as stated on the cover. Not very detailed
The author provides very useful information if you are alreadyfamiliar with Amazon and SEO speak. For beginners willing to look up some terminology on the reviewing and link back sections, it is great material to put you on the right path.
This is an excellent book to help someone decide if this business is right for them. A quick read and fast paced. But it should not be the only book you read on FBA!
