I think it's worth an ALERT: this is a case book and let me be clear, there is only an array of cases (facts, financial statements, description of situation), no studies.Hence it's a waste of time if you are trying to self-study. There is nothing to learn in this book, unless you are in the author's class that uses this book as the teaching material. To make up for that learning experience, you need the group discussion and the teaching, which is only available in the classroom. The book facts are 5% of the value of the course.The correct name of the book should be : case materials for HBS corporate structuring course, no studies included.100% Avoid if you are buying for self study.Again, I don't care if this book is meant to be used in the classroom and "therefore the author cannot reveal the solutions". As customers, I feel cheated and as seller and writer, it should be their responsibilities to make it clear what the book is and is not. I bought this and shipped it to Asia paying 50 bucks of shipping fee and I think it's fair to say I'm cheated.

This book is exceptional. It starts with providing the reader with the basics of distressed situations: the parties involved in restructuring, academic research regarding investment returns, the bankruptcy process, etc.The remainder of the book in primarily composed of case studies grouped into three categories (1) liability restructuring, (2) asset/equity restructuring, and (3) restructuring employee's claims. The cases are exceptionally well written.Many reviewers complain that the book would be better with a supplement that discusses "solutions" to the cases. I agree, those would be nice to have. However, the author uses his book to conduct his Harvard MBA course on restructuring. The value of the cases would obviously be compromised if answers were released. Maybe he will do so when he retires.For those interested in restructuring, the following is a list of my favorite books organized by subject area.Bankruptcy process:1. The Executive Guide to Corporate Bankruptcy - Legal text with comprehensive coverage on the bankruptcy processStrategies of distressed investors:1. The Art of Distressed M&A - Good book for strategic buyers who want to purchase the company or a business unit prior to bankruptcy or through a section 363 transaction during bankruptcy2. Distressed Debt Analysis - Good book for hedge fund managers who are looking to purchase distressed debt usually to extract short-term profits. Structural arbitrage is only briefly discussed.Turnaround Management:1. Corporate Recovery - Discusses how to turnaround companies nearing, but not in, bankruptcy2. Corporate Turnaround - Discusses how to turnaround companies nearing, but not in, bankruptcyAccounting for Restructuring:Advanced Accounting by Hoyle, Schaefer, Doupnik - Excellent coverage of fresh start accounting and NOL preservation. Note that only one chapter in the book covers bankruptcy accounting but this will be the same for all advanced accounting texts.Note, Principles of Corporate Renewal and The Vulture Investors are supposed to good as well but I have not read them yet.

This is a TERRIFIC book, but it is a collection of terrific case studies and by that I mean the kind of case studies you would use in an MBA program. There are no conclusions drawn or analysis of the case or even questions to think about. There is also no follow up on the corporations included and how their plans were actually implemented or if they survived.However, the cases are divided up into three parts and each part has a short essay that introductes the general theme for the cases and offers a paragraph summary of each case. There is also a reding list of academic papers and books that can be used to delve deeper on that parts topic. This does add real value to this book.Just like in b-school, you are expected to dig, dig, dig. And this is a good thing. Don't get me wrong. You will learn more by asking yourself questions about what all the information means. And if you are an experienced case reader you will pretty much know what you should go after. And these cases have a extremely useful financials associated with them (analyzing these is where the real payoff is). You can do a lot of the follow up on your own by digging through Internet resources such as WSJ, Yahoo, and Hoovers, etc.Just don't expect any easy conclusions in the book because it is designed for use in class so all of the conclusions have to be held back or the cases become useless for teaching. However, since discussion of cases is the best place to get new insights above your own analysis, it would be GREAT if the publisher or the author put up a website where purchasers of this book could discuss the cases with each other.Maybe this would be the same problem as publishing analysis. However, my only frustration with this wonderful book is that even though I have gotten a great deal from it and will continue to benefit from it as a resource text for years to come, I KNOW I could get more out of it by discussing it with others. Each of these cases would be terrific for class use.The cases are all five star. I gave the book four stars only because of my personal frustrations in not being able to get other discussion about the cases and because of its very specialized topic. If you are interested in this topic and understand what cases are and are not - then for you this is a five star book.

About the Author

Sean McNamara spent his childhood overseas in and was exposed to a variety of spiritual traditions. Early incidents of illness and surgery brought on a persistent fear and contemplation of death and of what happens afterward. In his twenties, McNamara became a Buddhist practitioner, using meditation to investigate the nature of consciousness and reality. Because many traditions eventually become rigid and limiting out of a need for self-preservation, and do so at the cost of each individual's unique development, McNamara took a different path. He found lucid dreaming and the out-of-body experience to be especially potent methods for his spiritual inquiry, and free of the dogmatic qualities found elsewhere. He eventually applied his knowledge of meditation to telekinesis to illustrate the themes of interconnectedness and intention to his meditation students. He currently teaches meditation, lucid dreaming, the out-of-body experience, and telekinesis in Denver, Colorado, with the purpose of showing others that spiritual growth is still possible as an independent, self-empowering, and revelatory path. He is married to Cierra McNamara, who founded Mayu Sanctuary, a secular meditation center in Denver.

Very nice and rich in knowledge. The writer knows very well his field. If anyone falls onto the study and practice with this book seriously, will go beyond the scope of this book. ie the writer shown and demonstrates some different methods to go through the 5 levels in order for someone to accomplish the primary stages of telekinesis, because telekinesis does not stop here or any other manual to read. Telekinesis has various and many forms of manifesting through. Not only moving light objects, or enclosed in a glass container. But someone can even manage to walk on water or moving circumstances and events, even re generate the cells of his body, and many more. Its just enough for someone to search and find.

There have been plenty of times when I set up a piece of foil or paper on a needle and tried to move it. This book gave me confidence to try again and it addresses the issue of what to do while putting in the time with it when it isn't moving yet. It isn't every time, because it does take time to learn, but I do consistently get good movement and my foil is under glass. The confidence it gives me carries over to other things in my life which also seem difficult or impossible.

I've very satisfied with this book so far. I'm just messing around with Level 1 and trying to see if I can get a response, but I love the down to earth and rational path that Sean McNamara takes. It's much less about the "Why" and a lot more about the "How" when it comes to Psycho-Kinesis, which is a HUGE rarity when it comes to Alternative Views today. Most books are filled to the brim with shaky explanations on how it all works, and I can speak from experience as someone who follows a more spiritual path, with many of the authors trying to persuade or intimidate you into their way of thinking about the world.This is why I LOVE this book; plenty of exercises and training methods for the mind, which is what I wanted from a book like this. Though I've read the book cover to cover and written notes on the processes, I'm just now digging into the exercises. It's day one so I don't expect miracles, but Sean McNamara's no nonsense and honest way of writing has me feeling that he is very trustworthy, to say nothing of the fact that he has many You-tube videos demonstrating his abilities.As for the delivery, I was amazed. I had gotten the Standard Shipping and was expecting this book sometime around the 24th of June. To my surprise I got it just 3 days after ordering! I am very satisfied with my purchase and would implore anyone looking for a possible path into the Meta-Physical world, one which gives verifiable and measurable results I might add, to definitely pick up this book!TLDR; 5/5, My delivery was incredible and so is the contents of this training manual.

I have not read all of this book as yet, there are exercises to complete along the way,but it is both exciting and challenging to get involved in this activity and I look forward to great success in the future.

We will see after practicing for a while. As a skeptic I must hold some caution to diving into random subjects

This is a decent book on lawn care and it is helpful in maintaining and repairing lawns, but there really isn't any reason to purchase it since Scotts has an app that is much better. Just about everything in this book is in the Scotts My Lawn app and the app has even more features like weed identification, seedling tracking, and a fertilizer calendar. I would recommend trying the free app before purchasing the book

When I work part time in the spring and summer as a landscape gardener, this field manual comes in very handy. Fortunately, being spiral-bound and laminated to facilitate washing or rinsing with a damp cloth should it become dirty is great for any landscaper, gardener, turf management technician, or horticulturist. This field book explains in proper and efficient detail the "dos and the don'ts" of landscaping. Charts, tables, proper instructions for planting, pruning, growing and transplanting, etc. for the novice to the professional. I don't leave home without it when I'm working the warm months.

The best lawn book I own. I have had various lawn books over the years, but this is by far the best. It begins with an interesting and timely discussion of the benefits lawns bring to our community. The photos are excellent. The authors are super and Nick Christian is a noted authority in the area of turf grasses. Not only will this book help you create and maintain that perfect lawn; but also, the book is fun to read.

Has helped me find out how to kill certain weeds and how to fix problems in my yard.Use common sense, if you can read this book is for you! It will help you take care of your lawn in ways you may not have known it is a starter book for dummies it is well written, there are more informative books out there but use this as a base and then go from there. So you can get used to the how to's.

This was pretty informative for a newcomer to the game of pinochle that has a bit of an idea on how to play already. I still have a few unanswered questions. If you already have a good understanding of card games, bidding, and trick tacking then this would be an easy to read and understand book. There are so many variations (house rules) but this I believe gives a great rundown of the basic rules.

Very basic introductory review. I was super disappointed. Similar or better directions and explanations can be found anywhere on the internet for free. I was hoping that lots of sample hands and sample games or interesting arising situations would be demonstrated, but no. It does, however, provide usefulness as a coaster.

Good. I found the book elementary. The instructions were good for a beginner as the book states. I was expecting a little more on strategy.Over all the book is good.

I mistakenly said I didn't receive this----BUT I did, it was at the bottom on the container, under the glass containers.
